Science - Animal Project

On Monday, October 15th, students will begin their Endangered Animal Project.  They will have necessary papers that are to be completed in the next few weeks.  Students are to keep all papers in their green project folders.  Students know that they will only receive one copy of their papers so it is extremely important they stay very organized.  Students will be working on their projects daily in school, and at home, to meet deadlines.  The project folders will go home nightly and must be returned every day to keep students on track with this project.

The Endangered Animal Project consists of researching their animal and completing a packet, creating a 3-D Box Project and a Powtoon (a new presentation software they will learn in Technology class).  Research will begin as soon as students choose their animals on Monday, October 15th.  Due dates are given for each page of the Endangered Animal project packet to help keep students on track.  The research will be worked on both at school and at home.  Research is to be completed by Monday, November 5th.  The Box project is to be done at home and is due November 14th; we will not work on the box project at school.  However, the Powtoon will solely be completed at school.  Our goal is to show these Powtoons on Grandparents' Day.

Here you will be able to find attachments for PROJECT DUE DATES and the BOX PROJECT Directions.  Students will have copies of these papers in their project folders too.  Everything else that your child will need for the project will be found in their project folders beginning Monday, October 15th.

I now this project is a big undertaking but the kids love it and the end results are always amazing from what I have witnessed.  This is my fourth time leading the project so feel free to ask questions if what your child is bringing home is not clear.  Thank you, in advance, for ALL OF YOUR SUPPORT.  You have all been a tremendous help this year!

Thank you!

Carolyn Bible
